• Hi, I am JAN

I love executing projects and helping startups grow.

Young entrepreneur and dreamer currently on my life's mission in China. I grew up in a small village in the south of the Czech Republic with a strong desire to explore the world and challenge myself. I studied Mechatronics in high school, have a BA in Economics and Finance and am now pursuing an MSc in Management from the Peking University HSBC Business School.

I used to work for Rocket Internet, built an online business during my last year of BA and found a passion in connecting and educating people through communities like Startup Grind. I am a healthy lifestyle geek that likes reading and helping others to achieve their goals. Keep learning and grinding!

    Professional Focus:

Business development, China, startups & venture capital, fundraising, operations management, e-commerce, and community management.

    Whoolala

    Asian modern fashion

I am a VP of Business Development, responsible for fundraising, new market(s) research and strategy formulation & implementation.

Whoolala is the international launchpad for the next Asian fashion designer.

Our business is predicated on a “simple” problem that few startups/companies have yet tried to address. Western clothes DON'T fit Asians. We connect independent Asian brands (and their unique products) with Asian shoppers globally to make modern Asian fashion accessible!

    Xiaomi Store

    E-commerce store with consumer electronics

I co-founded and helped to grow this originally "student project" from zero to a stable business with ~$50k monthly revenue at its peak. I was in charge of sourcing the products in China and establishing long-lasting relationships with suppliers, business development, strategic partnerships and customer service. The company serves primarily Czech and Slovak markets and deals with the after-sales service "in-house".

The foodpanda group is the leading online food delivery marketplace in emerging markets. I was a member of the Prague-based team that opened and operated two markets - the Czech Republic and Slovakia. I did everything from sales, product management and customer service. We managed to create an excellent company culture that enhanced overall motivation and team collaboration. Our team was consistently at the top of the productivity charts within the whole foodpanda group.
